Terwilliger Wildlife Sanctuary: Abbot Park Lane and B Street in San Rafael. Nature education and wildlife rehabilitation. This is the place to call to learn about local wildlife (they can set up small nature education tours) or if you encounter a local wild animal who needs medical care. The Marine Mammal Center: a santuary for marine mammals open to the public every day from 10 am - 4 pm. Located in the Marin Headlands, north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Volunteer and education opportunities. Call 979-4357 for directions.
