Another Letter to WA State ACLU

in support of SB 6496 and HB 2810

Dear Mr. Klunder et al.,

As an adult adoptee who has worked many years for the federal government, I am truly amazed that the ACLU's privacy section is opposing civil rights legislation which would actually keep big government OUT of adult, non-criminal citizens' private lives. This legislation is WA SB 6496/HB 2810.

Adult adoptees are not a criminal class, and must not be treated as such. Your job is to protect citizens from unwarranted intrusion by the government - not to uphold unconstitutional and discriminatory laws which must be relegated to the dustheap of history. Your job is certainly not to uphold BigBrother-type laws which micromanage the interpersonal relations of non-criminal adults.

Be sure that I will be contacting the ACLU national office separately regarding this matter, especially the flagrant misinformation presented against this bill to the WA legislature, under WA ACLU auspices. Someone's not doing their homework.

Sincerely,

Damsel Plum
