Bear Scouts: (3rd Grade) Den 4

SEPTEMBER THEME: SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS

Heads Up! Families can attend Wings Over Wine Country Airshow: 100 Years of
Powered Flight on August 23rd & 24th from 9:30am - 4:00pm. The Gates will open
at 9:30am for pre-show activities including radio controlled model aircraft
demonstration. The main Airshow events will be kicked off promptly at 10am.

Sat, Sept. 20. 10AM. Pacific Coast Air Museum, Santa Rosa. Cubs will get a
docent-led tour of a helicopter, an Albatross seaplane, and possibly the F-86.
They will also learn about the Wright Brothers. Boys can work on Elective 6:
Aircraft this coming month.
Meeting Place: Schilling home at 9AM. Please bring a bagged snack. We will
return home around 12PM. Please come in uniform.

Wed, Sept. 24. 6:30PM. Pack 28 Meeting at Dixie's MPR.

OCTOBER THEME: ONCE UPON A TIME...

Sat, Oct. 10. 2PM. Bear Valley Visitor's Center, Olema. Boys will take a walk
back in time and learn how the 1906 earthquake impacted Marin County. We'll
also learn if Millie the cow really existed? Fact or folklore? Boys should
work on Achievement 4: Tall Tales this month. We should do Achievement 4, c
together as a den...Read two folklore stories and tell your favorite one to
your den. Have boys bring one folklore story to share at meeting and I can
sign off.
Meeting Place: Schilling home at 1PM. Please bring a bagged lunch. We should
return home around 3PM. Please come in uniform, with folklore story, and Bear
Book.

Wed, Oct. 29. 6:30PM. Pack 28 Meeting at Dixie's MPR.

Heads Up! Families and Bear Cubs can attend REI's Corte Madera Store's Kids
Clinic. In the past, children have participated in everything from setting up
a tent to maintaining their bicycles. Next all weekend day event should take
place in October. Date TBA.
