In order to determine which Boy Scout troop
to bridge to, the second-year Webelos of Den 1 of Pack 28 visited two
different Boy Scout troops on March 1, 2003.
In the morning, they went on a 7-mile hike with Troop 84 to Mission
Peak in Fremont, California. Then
on that same evening, they spent an overnight trip at the Steinhart
Aquarium with Troop 76. Both
events were fun as well as informative for the boys.
Here are some of the comments from the boys in the Den:
Jaeson: At the Aquarium, we got to pet a penguin named
Homie. I was first on the hike
to Mission Peak. Mark: At the Aquarium, we went on a private tour. John: The Aquarium keeper threw fish to feed the
Texan Fish Alligator. Ricky: On the hike, I saw a cow glare at me. Sam: We played hide and seek at the Aquarium from
9:00pm to 3:00am. David: On the hike, I used a walking stick. At the Aquarium, we went into the “alcohol” room, where they preserved animals. Austin: The hike was 5.6 miles and it was a beautiful
sight at the top. We stayed
up late at the Aquarium. Max: The hike was very long and I liked it. The hike was fun!
